Microphone History:

MoMics opinion:

The DM-16 appears to have been designed as an alternative to the Shure 55 and has a stunning mid century chrome design that would look great on stage. It has a switchable output impedance of either 50 ohms or 50,000 ohms, which made it compatible with a wide range of equipment.

The same model was sold under other names. including the Lafayette 99-4545.

Technical Description:

From a 1967 advertisement for the DM16

Dynamic Microphone, single direction pick-up, dual impedance.

Excellent for PA recording both voice and music. Handsome new styling with terrific performance. Will stop or greatly reduce feed-back howl on PA systems and allow greater working distance from mike.

Quickly changed from regular high impedence to 50-ohm low impedence, allowing long mike lines without frequency loss.

Flat response 60-12,000 cps. Output -62 db.

Has detachable cable.  Swivel mounting for 5/8"-27 stands. Satin chrome finish.
