Microphone History:
Nicknamed "The Stick", The 4037 was designed as an unobtrusive microphone to meet the needs of sound reinforcement and television broadcast. Two versions were produced; the short version (4037C) and the long version (4037A). Electrically both models are similar except that the short model is slightly less sensitive at low frequencies. The 4037C was one of the last omnidirectional mics in common use in the TV studio, with more directional models becoming preferred in the 1970s.
