Microphone History:

BBC EP were an Italian company best known for their speakers who also dabbled in microphone production, producting this ribbon mic which probably dates from the late 1940s. They also made some dynamic microphones - the one pictured looks heavily inspired by Shure and Electrovoice.

The history of BBC Elettroacustica Professionale, now B&C Speakers, is available here

"Before B&C Speakers, there was BBC Elettroacustica Professionale: Founded in 1945 after the initials of Roberto Coppini and Fernando Borrani. We became B&C Speakers, with the iconic logo, in 1993 - and a publicly traded company in 2007."
