One of the microphones is badged RCA Victor Company Inc., and the other RCA Photophone limited. The latter once had their offices registered at ELECTRA HOUSE, VICTORIA EMBANKMENT, LONDON, W.C.2. This same address was also the location of the Marconi Offices in 1936 and Cable and Wireless Limited.

What is the difference betweem a PB90 and a PB144?

To the best of our knowledge, the two microphones are identical excelpt for the way ithey are mounted. The PB-144 is the studio version, with threaded arms on the sides and a yoke to absorb some vibrations and to allow the microphone to be tilted back and forth. The PB-90 was a cheaper model for public address and broadcast applications and has a threaded casting fitted to the base plate, which screws directly onto a microphone stand. However, either microphone could be fitted with an optional boom mount.....
