Microphone History:

We have not been able to identify the origin of this microphone. However, its capsule shows design similarities to early German tube condenser microphones from the 1950s, such as the Thiele models. It was acquired from a French seller in 2008.

Technical Description:

The circuit uses a Philips DL67 tube.

According to the Philips Electronic Tube Handbook, the DL67 was made from 1950 onwards and describes the tube as an an output pentode for hearing aids and other purposes.”

Recording Hacks state that the same tube was used in the Gefell UM900 condenser microphone.
