Microphone History:

The beyerdynamic M500 is a hypercardioid ribbon microphone that was  produced from approximately 1969 to 1990 and was notably the first handheld ribbon microphone designed for stage use. It was popular for vocals due to its smooth sound and extended high frequency response, famously used by Frank Sinatra for live performances. Its design featured a single, precision-built aluminum ribbon and was rugged for a ribbon microphone, combining the warm character of a ribbon with the reliability of a dynamic mic.
