Microphone History:
The Lafayette Radio Electronics catalog was an extensive mail-order guide that ran from the 1930s through to 1981. It offered consumer electronics, hi-fi stereo gear, and radio components including shortwave receivers, walkie-talkies, amplifiers, tape decks, transistors, and build-it-yourself speaker components. Lafaytte competed directly with Radio Shack, Allied Radio, and Heathkit in the United States.
Lafayette sold their own brand of imported mics from Japan alongside those from Shure and Electrovoice. Dynamic microphone model 99-4590 appeared in the Lafayette catalogues between 1967 and 1974, which can be viewed in full at World Radio History.
