Philips model 9559 has a long wide ribbon. Three different output impedances may be selected simply by rotating the custom 4-pin plug to the correct position. These outputs are 200, 500 and 10,000 ohms respectively.
A microphone specially designed for applications where the highest demands are placed on reproduction quality and operational reliability, such as in sound recording studios, sound film studios, and broadcasting. It possesses all the qualities one would expect from a first-class microphone.
• Linear frequency characteristic
• Wide frequency range
• Uniform directional effect for all frequencies,
• Different impedances
• Easily adjustable
• Simple connection
• Thorough transformer shielding
• High sensitivity
• Flexible mounting
• Attractive appearance, antique silver finish.
MoMics technical note.
This microphone has a small inductor inside which reduces the bass response. Unlike the RCA 44BX and Melodium 42B, there is no switch to disable it. However, when we service these for customers we often disconnect the inductor to give maximum bass.
