Telegrafia "Public Reporter"

Microphone History:

Company history taken from the introduction of a detailed online article published by The East Bohemia Museum in Pardubice and linked below:

"Telegrafia, the full name of which is correctly "Telegrafia, Czechoslovak Telephone and Telegraph Factory as" was founded on the initiative of the then Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs on October 18, 1919, almost the jubilee of the founding of Czechoslovakia. Production, focused on the development and production of low-current electrical devices, was from the beginning considered strategically important for the interests of the republic, which is why Telegrafia was established as a joint-stock company with a majority state share, financed by the Živnostenská banka."

Technical Description:

This is a large carbon microphone with a bakelite body and a pressed and chrome plated front grill, supported by four springs in a metal hoop, typical of similar models from the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Sadly our example does not work.
